Nakamura and Dubov get Grandprix wildcards
21 Dec 2021
The field of 24 Grandprix participants (listed here) has been completed by the wildcards of FIDE to Hikaru Nakamura, whose last classical game was in the Grandprix in November 2019 in Hamburg, and by organiser WorldChess to Daniil Dubov. Each participant will each get to play two out of three Grandprix-Tournaments in Berlin and Belgrade, starting on 3 February 2022. Each tournament is starting with preliminary groups of four players each with two qualifying for quarter finals, followed by semifinals and final, thus making tie-breaks frequent and rapid chess skills an important success factor.
